One, Two, Three…
First there was Roccs Bar and Restaurant, then came the Morningside
Services Club, and now? Well, the exact name and location remain a
secret, but the third X-Treme Global Consulting and Associates
restaurant is on its way! Based in Brisbane and set to be big,
building started on this exciting new project in July. With plans to
expand to six sites by mid 2008, watch this space for more X-Treme
restaurant news.
Globe Trotting
Well, the X-Treme team has certainly been clocking up the frequent
flyer miles as it trots around the globe working on projects. Glenn
recently returned from Mexico City with a new product launch and
business development completed, while other cities stamped in the
passport include Colombo, for a tea project with Dilmah, and London,
for a business review with a prominent food group.
There was also a short stopover next door when some of the X-Treme
team featured as keynote speakers at the New Zealand Ice Cream
Convention, serving salt and vinegar ice cream on a warm chicken
salad! A stop in Asia also looks set to bring good news, with a
significant government contract in the final stage of negotiations
and – fingers crossed – not far away. Stay tuned on this one!
Full Steam Ahead
All aboard the X-Treme train… X-Treme’s new training offering is a
hit so far with three clients making tentative bookings and two
other training packages sold in just its first month. Designing the
training package has kept Peter busy as he documents the team’s
50-plus years of experience. Meanwhile Glenn has been burning up the
telephone lines booking in training dates well in advance.
X-Tremely Slim
The latest slimming phenomenon in Australia – and one that actually
works – is “Celebrity Slim”. Available exclusively in Priceline
Pharmacies across the country, the X-Treme team has been busy
cooking, training and writing recipes for Australia’s new number one
weight loss program. Developing a number of healthy weight loss
recipes for Celebrity Slim, 50,000 copies of the program’s booklet
have been printed and are flying off Priceline’s shelves!
New Clients on the Menu
The Frozen Food Information Bureau has become a focus for the team
as an increasing number of food service clients move towards
freezing products and away from tinned alternatives. Why? Frozen
food is far friendlier to our environment and locks in that
all-important nutritional value.
Not sure about frozen food? Well, if you take a look at something
like frozen Thai seafood, the product that ends up in your freezer
can be traced back to inception. Can the same be said for fresh?
That’s why the X-Treme team prefers to go with frozen – so we know
exactly where it was caught, how it was treated and whether it
followed the cold chain.
Speaking of seafood, did you know just how beneficial it is to us
all? Seafood can reduce heart disease by 17%, strokes by 12% and can
help to reduce the incidence of some cancers. Plus, it can also help
in the prevention or mitigation of asthma, psoriases, rheumatoid
arthritis and melanoma, while increasing children’s intelligence.
So, seafood and eat it!
Slam Dunk!
Like basketball? Love your food? Then Café 23’s the perfect place to
visit. Situated just outside Telstra Dome in Melbourne, Café 23 is
the brainchild of famous Australian basketball player, Shane Heal.
And another good reason to go there? Glenn and Peter have been
appointed by Shane to establish the food and beverage framework for
this very busy project. Keen to work with this iconic Australian at
the well-known venue, the X-Treme team look forward to helping make
Café 23 a slam dunk!
Catering King
And another assignment at a different Australian sporting venue sees
the X-Treme guys team up with Fit For A King Catering to help set up
of their contract at Homebush Aquatic Centre. The team looks forward
to making a big splash with the King.
